Have you ever driven way out in the country on a clear night, far enough that the lights from the cities can't be seen, then looked up at the stars and stare at the masterpiece before you? It is amazing on the thoughts that can come to your mind as your doing this, the size and magnitude of the night sky and it's complexities before us. Yet, it remains so simple and beautiful, so calming to stare into the sky and your own self with a seemingly endless stream of thoughts and emotions. It is amazing to me that ALL 6+ billion people on this planet are under the SAME sky meaning that everyone is equal in their being.
If everyone is equal in their being, and all live under the same sky, what gives any one person or group of people the right to dictate over another person or group of people? Why should one's beliefs rein supreme over another? When should a religious body dictate over your PHYSICAL being? Not a simple answer, right? Well here it is, my (our) spiritual "leader" (because I am not a member due to my own differences in beliefs) has given my wife their blessings on getting a divorce, to the effect that I am a transsexual and have therefore "broken the vows of marriage" and an considered the same as an adulteress. We were speaking to them on the subject of getting the church's blessing on us returning after I came out as Trans., NOT DIVORCE BLESSINGS! My wife says to me once we returned home from such a traumatic event “I love you and I married YOU, no matter if you are a guy or a girl, I married you as a person and am not going to get a divorce because they say to do so"
My question is how does the person who married us, the person who is "guiding the family" spiritually, the person who is supposed to represent equal balance in life and church get the power to split up a family (or at least attempt to) because one person does not fit their or the church's "ideal’s.” When is the spiritual beliefs of the church over power the power of a strong and loving family, just because one or more of the family members is not going with the grain of society and making their own path in life, no matter what path that may be.
In my own thoughts, I believe that church's are cutting their own throats by not being more forgiving and not embrace the thing that should be the sole driving force of the congregation, to accept all, no matter what to worship with them.
